General Anaesthesia
Getting your child treated under general anesthesia is completely safe.
- The situations in which we may recommend general anaesthetic include:
- When a child is anxious and not likely to cope for the dentist to complete the dental treatment safely
- If a child needs dental treatment which needs to be completed in one appointment
- When we need to perform complex dental procedures
- For a child who is too young to follow directions or understand
- For a child with special needs

Thumb Sucking
There are a variety of oral issues that can arise from excessive thumb or finger sucking, such as:
- Overbite. Thumb sucking can cause the front teeth on the top row to stick out too far over the bottom row of teeth. This is one form of bite misalignment that can occur from thumb sucking.
- Open bite. An open bite is when there is a visible gap between the front teeth on the top and bottom row when the jaw is closed. Thumb sucking can be one possible cause of this.
- Jaw issues. Thumb sucking can change the shape of the jaw, possibly causing misalignment that can lead to orthodontic issues later or even the need for jaw surgery in the future.
- Speech issues. There is an increased risk of lisps and other speech issues when thumb sucking is present and continues for too long.
Myofunctional Therapy
Myofunctional therapy for kids is essentially exercise for the mouth and face muscles. It’s often recommended for children who have habits like mouth breathing, thumb sucking, or incorrect swallowing/tongue posture.
The treatment trains them to use these muscles correctly. The goal is to help teeth come in straight and jaws develop properly, often leading to less need for extensive braces or other treatments later on.
Invisalign First
Invisalign First is like training wheels for kids’ teeth, usually for children aged 6 to 10. Getting this treatment early helps guide their growing teeth and jaws into a better position.
The goal is to make future teeth straightening (like braces) much easier, shorter, and more effective when they are older.
Sports Dentistry
One of the newest and most promising areas of dentistry is sports dentistry. It mostly entails the prevention and treatment of orofacial injuries and oral disorders related to athletics. The sports or team dentist helps athletes with mouth injury prevention, treatment, and diagnosis. Wearing basic protection equipment, such as properly fitting helmets, face masks, and/or mouth guards, is the most important factor in reducing sports-related orofacial injuries. The most frequent orofacial injury suffered while participating in sports is a dental injury
Pediatric Minor Oral Surgery
- Minor oral surgery consists of short-duration surgical procedures that are usually carried out under local anaesthetic. Many oral surgical procedures in children are similar to adults as the basic principles are the same. The most common minor oral surgical procedures undertaken in children are:
- Primary Teeth Extraction
- Frenectomy (removal of the tissue fold that attaches the tongue or lips to the jawbone) mostly called as tongue tie
